Eli Manning holds a workout at Duke University every year and usually brings a few playmakers with him.
This year, however, the New York Giants quarterback was joined by a crowd of teammates down to Durham for the annual workout.
Running back Shaun Draughn posted a group photo of everyone in attendance on his Twitter account:
In the photo, Eli Manning is surrounded by eight of his teammates (four wide receivers, three tight ends and one running back). Draughn, the lone running back in attendance, is one of three new Giants that made the trip. The other two were wide receiver Brandon Marshall and tight end Rhett Ellison.
This early workout is key for these new additions to develop a chemistry with Manning, as New York’s offense under head coach Ben McAdoo is highly reliant upon precise timing.
This gathering wasn’t just a business trip. As usual, Manning and his teammates found some time to shoot some hoops at Duke.
Manning also met the Duke lacrosse team.
Beckham, who was in Phoenix for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four, told Newsday that he would not be attending Manning’s workouts at Duke due to an upcoming oral surgery. He is expected to be ready for the start of the team’s offseason workouts later this month.
Duke football coach David Cutcliffe was also Manning’s head coach at Ole Miss in the early 2000s.
